A vertical masterpiece redefining London living: Design-expert Martyn White explores what Opus will offer its residents

“A sculptural new addition is rising on London’s South Bank”, otherwise known as Opus, Bankside Yards, captured the attention of Martyn White, a respected editor whose work explores the intersection of premium design, interiors, and contemporary art. White pinpoints how Opus is set to lead the way when it comes to sustainable, design-led living in the capital, with future-thinking at the heart of the project. Combining exceptional architecture, lifestyle amenities and cultural destinations all in one space, Opus will not just be visually impressive; it will offer an exceptional immersive living experience.

There are a variety of aspects that will make Opus an extraordinary place to live, as Martyn White shares. Here are just some of the key takeaways:

  • Opus will include Northern-European inspired interiors alongside passive design strategies. The design team includes PLP Architecture, ODA and landscape specialist Enea.
  • Sustainability has been prioritised on every level, including the use of thermally efficient materials, to being part of UK’s first large-scale fifth-generation energy-sharing network, which reduces the building’s environmental impact while enhancing comfort and efficiency for residents.
  • The extensive amenities offer at Opus reflects the South Bank’s creative and cultural heritage. At the centre of this is the 23rd-floor Summit Club & Deck, a private residents’ club offering a double-height lounge and bar, private dining room and catering kitchen, and a landscaped terrace with spectacular uninterrupted views across London. As White describes, the “space feels like an extension of home; relaxed, elegant and entirely exclusive.” Bankside Yards and the neighbourhood surrounding Opus will soon become “one of the capital’s most dynamic cultural corridors” and is set to include a 171-key Mandarin Oriental Bankside Yards hotel, as well as boutique shops, restaurants and cultural venues.

Setting the tone for a new era of city-centre living, Opus has anticipated the future needs of its residents, combining luxury, sustainability, wellness, and culture all in one space for years to come.
